Heads and representatives of different department and units of the Provincial Government of Cavite convened in the first Top Management Review for 2016 to recap what has transpired in the previous year in terms of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System implementation, the activities and accomplishments as well as the challenges met along the way. The meeting was held at the Cavite Quality Management Office, Provincial Capitol Building, Trece Martires City on January 12, 2016.

  On behalf of Governor Jonvic Remulla, Engr. Efren Nazareno – OIC Provincial Administrator for Internal Affairs delivered an inspirational message stressing the importance of all the department heads’ participation in the activity to assure employees’ commitment to the Quality Management System implementation. He expects everyone’s participation and cooperation as the PGC gears toward the ISO 9001:2015 version   Dr. Eva Defiesta, Quality Management Representative enumerated the accomplishments for 2015 including the various trainings and seminars conducted for internal auditors and QMS frontliners; internal and external audits; top management reviews; benchmarking activities, and other regular activities. She also shared the result of 1st surveillance audit which was conducted by auditors from AJA Registrars in November 2015 as well as the actions taken on the minor non-conformities.
  Results of workplace organization inspection were reported by Workplace Committee Chair, Engr. Leopoldo Talatala while the feedback ratings of offices for the previous year were discussed by Ms. Joy Karen Pangilinan of the Feedback Committee. Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Jesus Barrera discussed various topics including the revised procedure for establishing, reviewing and enhancing Quality Objectives, the correlation of the QMS and the Strategic Performance Management System and the accomplishment of Individual/Office Development Plan.
  Heads who were present also deliberated on the proposed policies for the sending of permanent representatives of offices to the Top Management Review in light of the external auditors’ recommendation to come up with a mechanism that will address the non-attendance of department heads to the top management reviews which is one of the important activities of the QMS.
Future plans were also laid down and first on the list is the conduct of the PGC-QMS Transition Course to ISO 9001:2015 taking place on January 19, 2016. --Eve Reyes
